A delightful dessert combining fluffy whipped cream, juicy strawberries, and tender cake, perfect for summer gatherings.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups strawberries, hulled and chopped
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 tablespoons powdered sugar
  • 2 cups shortcake (store-bought or homemade)

Instructions

  1. Mix the chopped strawberries with the sugar in a bowl. Let them sit for about 10 minutes until they become juicy.
  2. Whip the heavy cream, vanilla extract, and powdered sugar together in another bowl until soft peaks form.
  3. Cut the store-bought shortcake into small pieces if using.
  4. Layer the shortcake pieces at the bottom of serving cups or bowls.
  5. Layer the strawberries over the shortcake, followed by a dollop of whipped cream.
  6. Repeat the layers until you reach the top of the cup, finishing with whipped cream and a few strawberry slices on top.
  7. Serve immediately, or refrigerate for a short while to let the flavors meld together before enjoying.

Notes

Best enjoyed fresh, but can be stored in the refrigerator for a day. Keep ingredients separate if assembling in advance.
