  • 1 cup of granulated sugar
  • ½ cup of unsweetened cocoa powder
  • ½ cup of unsalted butter, melted
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract
  • ½ teaspoon of salt
  • 1 teaspoon of baking powder
  • ½ cup of unsweetened cocoa powder (for frosting)
  • ½ cup of unsalted butter, softened (for frosting)
  • 2 cups of powdered sugar (for frosting)
  • ¼ cup of milk (for frosting)
  • 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract (for frosting)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13-inch baking pan.
  2. Combine the melted butter and sugar in a mixing bowl, and stir until well mixed.
  3. Add in the eggs, one by one, mixing well after each addition. Then stir in the vanilla extract.
  4. Whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt in a separate bowl.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, stirring until just combined.
  6. Pour the batter into the prepared pan and spread evenly. Bake for about 25-30 minutes.
  7. Let the brownies cool completely before spreading the chocolate frosting on top. Cut into squares and serve.
